Spring 2010
This semester our Children's Literature UNM students had the opportunity to collaborate with Heights Middle and Mesa Verde Schools culminating with a Poetry Carnival.

Heights Middle schoolers in Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Evans' classrooms learned poetry selections to perform for Mesa Verde Elementary school students in a performance on March 15. It was fast and furious as a practicum experience in getting to know students, connect with poems, practice poems, have two snow days in between before their creative dramatic event. Mesa Verde audience feedback was positive.

On April 3, while shopping at the grocery store, I met a boy who smiled and waived to me. I asked him what school he attended. When he said Mesa Verde, I asked him how he liked the poetry performance. He enthusiastically replied "it was fun."
