This is a captivating jewel of a story where a common fairy tale theme is infused with creative imaginative breadth, depth, humor and diversity. Fantasy and informational genres merge as one.
Napoli tells the story of a Prince who has been turned into a frog by a hag. However, it is Jade, a female frog, who befriends the Prince, known as Pin, and patiently teaches him the world of the pond, frogs and creatures within his new world. In the process, Pin teaches Jade to see beyond the limited scope of a frog's lifeworld. As their relationship evolves they are both changed and their children are a new species of froglets known as fawgs!
In the end the reader knows more facts about frogs as well. This is a story you can almost see played out on the big screen as well as in the comfort of a big soft chair!
