ILLUSTRATOR FOCUS will include:

Short narrative:

  • Brief background,
  • official website and/or related author websites,
  • reflection of why author (her work(s)) interests me,
  • bibliography of body of work.

Eleanor Schick is an artist, author and illustrator who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her first love and career was in dance studying with Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey and performing as a member of the Juilliard Dance Theatre (). However, as a child she was encouraged to draw and never has stopped.

Having the oppoprtunity to know Eleanor Schick through author and my first children's literature teacher Jeanne Whitehouse-Peterson, this illustrator focus will help update me to some of Eleanor Schick's more recent work. One thing you notice immediately is Eleanor's hair which radiates an illuminating aura of colors. Next is her engaging and quick smile and next her delicate and gentle hands. Farmington Public Librarian Kathy Schlapp  has invited Eleanor Schick to the Farmington area to talk about her writing and illustrations in November. Her color-pencil illustrations are detailed life-like and whimsical.

Eleanor Schick is is listed in the Contemporary Authors and is available Online at .

Eleanor maintains no official website. However, her books, presentations, and related informationare readily available online. See thumbnail pictures of Eleanor's work available on .
