DISCUSSION DIRECTOR
Has the official responsibility to think up some good
discussion questions, conduct the meeting, and ask for contributions from the
other members. (5 Ws, 1H)
CONNECTOR
Takes everyone from the text world out into the real world
where readers’ experiences connects with life and literature. Look also between
this story and others on the same topic or by the same author. (Text to text and text to life comparisons.)
LITERARY LUMINATOR
Takes
readers back to memorable, important sections of the text and reads them aloud.
(Remember some interesting, powerful, funny, puzzling or important sections of
the text.)

ILLUSTRATOR
Your job is to draw anything
(character, setting, problem, prediction, surprise, exciting part, etc.) about
the story that you liked. You can label things with words if you like.
VOCABULARY ENRICHER
Your job is to be on the
lookout for a few especially important words, phrases, expressions while
reading. Watch for unfamiliar or puzzling words, repeated words, or words that
have special meaning in the text or title.
SUMMARIZER
Your job is to prepare a brief
summary of the story. Your group discussion will begin with your 1-2 minute
statement that covers key points, main highlights and general idea of the
reading.
